SEGA MegaCD Development

Description I got this development megacd in 2008 (or something like that). The unit kinda works. The MegaDrive part works fine (but with some nasty sound, capacitor problem maybe ??). The MegaCD part do not boot, the bios just freeze It’s a standard MegaCD pcb + a standard MegaDrive pcb but there is another board : The Cross Product one (that’s the compagny which develop this thing) The CPU of the MegaCD and the MegaDrive are on the Cross Product board. The board also sit between the MegaCD main pcb and the CD-Drive one. Rumor is that the unit can boot an iso via a scsi cable plugged into a computer. Pictures Sorry for the quality of some pictures, I’ll take some better ones soon. Front view of the unit

I’ve dumped all the dumpable chips The MegaCD bios is a standard one (USA v1.10 on my unit) The ic13, ic16, ic32, ic34 appears to be the main cpu and sub cpu program which are normally on the cdrom. They are probably used when booting an iso throught the scsi cable.
